Sound Therapy in the Woods

Come and unwind in Wolford Wood to the relaxing sounds of a gong meditation in a beautiful outdoor setting. Also known as a “gong bath”, this experience simply involves lying down on a mat, getting cosy and comfortable and then closing your eyes to focus on the mysterious, yet deeply calming sounds of the gongs and other soothing sounds. By immersing yourself in the complex sound vibrations of the gongs your mind slows down and you’re able to achieve a feeling of deep relaxation that is often hard to reach in our busy modern lives. Physically, the soundwaves from the gongs vibrate the water within our bodies which helps to activate the natural relaxation processes of our nervous system. The session lasts around 60 minutes, and afterwards you should feel an overall sense of calm and focus as well as a reduction in stress levels. Often people experience improvement in their sleep. Gong baths are usually held indoors, but we believe that combining the sound of the gongs with the natural soundscape of the woodland creates a truly magical and unique experience, soothing both mind and body. What you’ll need to bring: a mat and/or sleeping bag to lie on the ground, a blanket to stay warm, a pillow for your head and maybe another pillow or bolster to place under your knees - basically whatever you need to feel cosy and comfortable. Also handy to have some water to drink after the session.

Wolford Wood. Saturday July 17th, 2pm-3pm
