With the burgeoning revival of an outdoor learning curricula how do we make places like Wolford Wood an accessible Warwickshire Centre for Well-being and Productivity?

Join us at Wolford Wood and gain a sense of wonder – 150 acres (60ha.) of Warwickshire Scientific and Working Woods. See what we will be offering your business and employees

over the course of the next 30-years.

This event will involve talks and discussions on the following topics:

• The potential for Ancient Woodland to promote Well-Being and Productivity

• A fascinating talk based on Japanese research into the health benefits of walking in the forest, followed by a Shinrin Yoku forest walk in Wolford Wood

• Making Wolford Wood a hub for corporate team building, outdoor learning and a reason to visit Warwickshire

• The role of bio-diversity offsetting and the future of our Ecology

The talk will be followed by:

➢   Refreshments and Piping Hot Cully & Scully Organic soup from our outdoor kitchen.

➢ Guided walks through 150 acres/60 Ha. of Wolford Wood to discover its biodiversity, its status as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and its challenges.

➢   Flora and fauna identification as we go. Moths***

➢ Den building for those who want to give it a go!

NB: Early Birds & Moths*** David Brown Warwickshire County Macro Moth Recorder.  There are over 500 types of moths in Wolford Wood. Most of them are pretty amazing. Come early if you want to join us as David answers questions, studies, reveals, identifies, counts and releases the moths caught overnight in his light traps.

Wolford Wood is a privately-owned working woodland.  This rare 150-acre scientific wood is protected and commercially managed for the benefit of the woodland habitat and its indigenous bio-diversity.  The woodland is classed Ancient & Historic with plantation Ash and Oak. Hazel, Birch, Willow and Sweet Chestnut is coppiced to order and as part of a 30 year management plan approved by The Forestry Commission and English Nature. As a way to sustain its future, Wolford Wood can be booked as a venue for selected events and private parties.

There will be marquees and facilities at the wood including, with thanks to one of our BeCorp. Sponsors, Lashings of Piping Hot Cully & Scully Organic Soup served from our outdoor kitchen.

Please note this is an outdoor event. You will be entering an exciting and unique natural environment with limited access and off road wet muddy tracks*, please be prepared for wet weather, be ready to wrap up warm and bring a winter coat, gloves, hat and scarf.
